Make every item easier to find
How we help
Goods can be physically present but operationally missing. When cartons are placed wherever there is room without a recorded move, picking takes longer and stock counts become a search rather than a check.
BrownBag organises put-away around agreed product identifiers, storage locations and picking needs. We connect the receipt to its destination and keep held or unresolved goods distinct. The benefit is practical: a stock record points to a usable location, and your operation has a traceable handoff from arrival to storage.

How the work is handled
Decide where the goods belong
Review the accepted receipt alongside product size, quantity and movement pattern. Identify whether goods belong in reserve storage, a picking location or a preparation area, and establish how different variants or stock statuses will be kept clear.
Move and confirm the stock
Transfer the goods to the assigned location and record the item, quantity and destination. Resolve unclear labels or location conflicts before completing the move, rather than leaving the next team to infer what has been stored.
Maintain location discipline
Define who can move goods and how those changes are recorded. When picking locations change or stock is consolidated, update the location record so the physical arrangement and the inventory view continue to describe the same operation.

Your questions, answered
Can put-away support several variants of a product?
Yes. We use the agreed SKU or variant identifiers to keep similar products distinct. Clear product data and labels are especially useful where packaging looks alike.
What happens when a storage location changes?
The move should update the location and quantity record. We agree the recording method and responsibility so a temporary rearrangement does not become a permanent inventory mismatch.
