Etsy support
Etsy shop content & operations
Present a creative product clearly, set realistic customer expectations and organise the work behind personalised orders.
Explain the product and the maker’s role.
Customers need to understand materials, size, personalisation and production time. A shop also needs to establish that its products and production arrangements fit Etsy’s current rules before investing in listings.
Check the product’s fit first
Etsy’s creativity standards distinguish items made, designed, handpicked or sourced by sellers. Review the applicable category and production-partner disclosures for your actual product. BrownBag helps organise the information; platform eligibility is not guaranteed.
- Product and production-role brief
- Materials, dimensions and personalisation fields
- Original image and content requirements review
Make custom orders less ambiguous
Specify what a buyer must supply, how options are recorded and when an approval is needed. Photography and copy should explain the finished item, what is included and realistic processing expectations. Avoid promises that the production workflow cannot support.
Connect messages with fulfilment
Keep the agreed personalisation, order reference and dispatch instructions together. Define the handling of missing buyer information, requested changes and damaged deliveries. Review pricing with the time spent on each order, packaging and channel costs in mind.
Prepare a useful first conversation
Describe what you make or design, any production partners, target buyer markets and the customisation or order process you need help with.
Check current platform requirements
Official rules, availability and fees can change. Confirm the requirements for your actual account, market and products before committing.
Platform names describe supported ecosystems and do not imply official partnerships.
