The problem we help solve
A clearer handoff. Less uncertainty.
Purchase events are duplicated, values do not match orders, or consent choices are disconnected from tagging. Reports then look precise while answering the wrong question.
How BrownBag helps
We create a GA4 measurement plan for the agreed customer journey and implement the relevant events and parameters. Where server-side events or reporting APIs are useful, they are scoped alongside consent and data quality.
From requirement to operation
Your Google Analytics 4 workflow
Define the measurement contract
Agree event names, item identifiers, currency, transaction references and the business questions each event should answer.
Implement and validate events
Connect the browser or approved server flow and inspect event payloads in test journeys. Prevent repeat purchase events for the same transaction.
Reconcile and document
Compare sample orders with analytics records, explain expected differences and hand over a tagging specification and change checklist.
What we can deliver
- Ecommerce event and parameter plan
- Consent-aware implementation and debug evidence
- Reporting reconciliation and maintenance guide
We agree the systems, responsibilities, acceptance checks and support arrangements before implementation begins.
Define the right scope
Analytics totals can differ from operational sales because of consent, attribution and collection limits. GA4 is not an accounting ledger, and no personal data should be sent in event parameters.
Provider requirements and interfaces can change. We recheck the applicable documentation and account access when scoping your project.
Official Google Analytics 4 reference →Your questions, answered
Can GA4 replace our finance reports?
No. GA4 helps analyse behaviour and marketing outcomes. We keep the order system and finance records authoritative for sales reconciliation and explain the reasons for reporting differences.
What should we include in the first brief?
Share your current store and systems, provider account status, target markets and the workflow you want to improve. Include typical volumes and the person responsible for operations. Do not send passwords, API keys or customer records.
