Product-first sourcing support

Quality & supplier checks

Define the evidence and inspection scope that matter for your supplier, product and stage of purchase.

The buying decision

Put the right questions before the order.

A supplier badge, directory listing or attractive sample answers only part of the buying question. Checks should match the actual risk: legal identity, production capability, specification compliance or shipment condition.

How the work moves forward

  1. 01

    Set the scope

Identify the buying decision and the consequences of a failure. Agree the documents, sample tests, factory checks or inspection stages needed, including what the review will not establish.

  2. 02

    Collect and assess evidence

Review current documents against the correct company, factory and product. Arrange agreed inspection or specialist testing where available; record limitations and outstanding items.

  3. 03

    Resolve before commitment

Share findings, request corrective action and establish acceptance criteria. Separate observed findings from supplier assertions and keep the final approval with the agreed decision-maker.

What you take forward

  • A risk-based verification and inspection brief
  • An evidence register with scope, date and limitations
  • Findings, corrective-action questions and approval checkpoints

We agree deliverables, evidence requirements, timing and responsibilities before work starts. Supplier terms, third-party costs and BrownBag’s service fee are recorded separately.

Questions before you start

Is this a certification service?

A scoped check is not certification. Regulated testing, legal advice and formal conformity work require the appropriate qualified provider.

Can every overseas inspection be arranged?

Availability depends on location, timing, product and the agreed scope. We confirm the route and responsibilities before promising a visit or test.
