Product-first sourcing support
Landed cost & shipping planning
Compare sourcing options on a consistent delivered-cost basis, with assumptions, exclusions and uncertainty visible.
The buying decision
Put the right questions before the order.
A unit price rarely tells you what an order will cost by the time sellable stock arrives. Freight terms, sample costs, duties, local delivery and defects can change the comparison.
How the work moves forward
- 01
Normalize the quotation
Record currency, quantity, named delivery point and which freight or other charges are already included. Separate one-time tooling or sample costs from recurring order costs.
- 02
Build the cost picture
Estimate packaging, inspection, pickup, freight, insurance, import charges, clearance, local delivery, payment fees and separate service charges. Avoid counting costs twice.
- 03
Compare scenarios
Show cost per sellable unit under realistic quantity, freight and defect assumptions. Mark estimate dates and expiry, and identify customs or tax questions requiring qualified confirmation.
What you take forward
- A landed-total and cost-per-sellable-unit comparison
- An assumptions register with inclusions and exclusions
- A shipping and compliance question list before commitment
We agree deliverables, evidence requirements, timing and responsibilities before work starts. Supplier terms, third-party costs and BrownBag’s service fee are recorded separately.
Questions before you start
Is this a final customs or freight quote?
No. Planning estimates are subject to the product, route and current provider quotations. Confirm final customs treatment with an appropriately qualified professional before commitment.
Can you compare suppliers in different countries?
Yes, where suitable options can be researched. Manufacturing origin, seller location and dispatch country are recorded separately, and eligibility is checked for the actual destination.
