The problem we help solve
A clearer handoff. Less uncertainty.
The checkout integration works in a demonstration, but real orders expose gaps around payment tokens, settlement states, refunds and customer support.
How BrownBag helps
We review the supported Braintree SDK and server integration for your application, then map transaction outcomes to order handling. The checkout and merchant-account configuration are tested together.
From requirement to operation
Your Braintree workflow
Review the integration model
Confirm supported SDK versions, merchant accounts and enabled methods. Decide how the client and server exchange the provider-generated payment reference.
Connect transaction handling
Implement server-side transaction creation and the supported status or webhook workflows required by your order system.
Test the financial lifecycle
Exercise failed transactions, settlement-related states and refunds. Document which operational actions are automated and which remain in the merchant dashboard.
What we can deliver
- Client/server integration design
- Transaction-to-order mapping
- Lifecycle test and support handover
We agree the systems, responsibilities, acceptance checks and support arrangements before implementation begins.
Define the right scope
Braintree availability, methods and account approval depend on provider requirements. Vaulting and recurring payments need explicit scope and consent handling; existing credentials are never requested in the public brief.
Provider requirements and interfaces can change. We recheck the applicable documentation and account access when scoping your project.

Does this include PayPal payment methods?
We review what is enabled and supported in your Braintree account and integration. The method, customer experience and reporting must be validated for your specific setup.
What should we include in the first brief?
Share your current store and systems, provider account status, target markets and the workflow you want to improve. Include typical volumes and the person responsible for operations. Do not send passwords, API keys or customer records.
