Authorize.Net payment integration services

Connect Authorize.Net checkout with confirmed orders, capture decisions, refunds and the records your finance team needs.

The problem we help solve

A clearer handoff. Less uncertainty.

A customer completes payment, but the store relies on a browser return to release the order. Staff then reconcile authorisations, captures and refunds manually, with no clear route for delayed or repeated notifications.

How BrownBag helps

BrownBag scopes an Authorize.Net integration around your approved merchant account, storefront and payment lifecycle. We compare Accept Hosted with an appropriate Accept.js or maintained platform connection, then link verified transaction outcomes to orders and operational records.

From requirement to operation

Your Authorize.Net workflow

  1. Choose the account and checkout route

Review the merchant entity, processor, currency and enabled methods. Confirm which Authorize.Net account product and developer interface apply, then choose hosted checkout or a supported token-based flow around the customer journey and payment-data responsibilities.

  2. Connect order and transaction states

Map the order reference to the Authorize.Net transaction ID. Implement server-side status verification and signature-checked webhook handling with duplicate-event protection. Keep authorisation, capture, decline and refund states distinct so a notification does not release an order twice.

  3. Test capture, refunds and the finance handoff

Use the applicable sandbox to test successful, declined, cancelled and interrupted journeys. Check voids before settlement and refunds after settlement, then agree transaction lookups, reconciliation records and the staff process for held or unresolved payments.

What we can deliver

  • Account-specific checkout and payment-state specification
  • Verified event handling linked to order and transaction references
  • Sandbox lifecycle test records and refund/reconciliation runbook

We agree the systems, responsibilities, acceptance checks and support arrangements before implementation begins.

Define the right scope

Merchant approval, supported business country, processor, settlement currency and enabled methods must be confirmed with Authorize.Net and your merchant service provider. Gateway integration does not create merchant eligibility. Stored profiles, recurring billing and eCheck require separately agreed scope and account support; BrownBag does not issue PCI validation or represent an Authorize.Net partnership.

Provider requirements and interfaces can change. We recheck the applicable documentation and account access when scoping your project.

Your questions, answered

Can you connect refunds and recurring payments as well as checkout?

We can scope void and refund actions against the transaction state and account permissions. Recurring billing or stored customer profiles are separate workflows: we agree customer consent, renewal events, failed-payment handling and support ownership before implementation. Existing payment credentials require an approved migration process.

What should we include in the first brief?

Share your current store and systems, provider account status, target markets and the workflow you want to improve. Include typical volumes and the person responsible for operations. Do not send passwords, API keys or customer records.
