The problem we help solve
A clearer handoff. Less uncertainty.
Enterprise buyers ask for information-security assurance, but policies, access records and operational evidence sit in separate places. A document pack alone cannot show that controls work in everyday operations.
How BrownBag helps
BrownBag supports the technical side of an ISO/IEC 27001 readiness programme. We work with your security lead and specialist advisers to connect risk decisions with system settings, operating procedures and evidence.
From requirement to operation
Your ISO 27001 workflow
Define the system boundary
Identify the services, information, people and suppliers within the proposed scope. Record dependencies so the technical work follows your risk assessment.
Put controls into operation
Scope identity and access changes, backup checks, incident workflows, asset records and change-management evidence around the selected controls.
Make evidence repeatable
Assign owners and review intervals, test agreed workflows and hand over records that your internal review and certification body can examine.
What we can deliver
- Technical control-to-system mapping
- Implementation backlog with accountable owners
- Repeatable evidence collection and handover
We agree the systems, responsibilities, acceptance checks and support arrangements before implementation begins.
Define the right scope
ISO/IEC 27001 concerns an information security management system, not just a website security checklist. Management owns risk decisions and the ISMS; an independent certification body makes certification decisions. Certification fees and formal audits are separately scoped.
Provider requirements and interfaces can change. We recheck the applicable documentation and account access when scoping your project.
Official ISO 27001 reference →Your questions, answered
Can this start with one product or business unit?
Yes. We can help map a proposed boundary and its dependencies. Your management and certification advisers must agree whether that scope is appropriate before implementation is treated as certification-ready.
What should we include in the first brief?
Share the requirement, systems involved, target market, existing findings and the advisers or assessors already involved. We use that context to agree responsibilities, deliverables and the next review point.
