The problem we help solve
A clearer handoff. Less uncertainty.
A checkout can pass an automated scan and still be difficult to use with a keyboard or screen reader. Missing labels, unclear errors and inaccessible menus turn small interface defects into purchase barriers.
How BrownBag helps
We review agreed customer journeys against a defined WCAG version and target level, then implement and test the prioritised improvements. The work connects accessibility findings to the components your team maintains.
From requirement to operation
Your WCAG accessibility workflow
Define the journeys and target
Agree pages, devices, assistive-technology checks and the WCAG target. Include browsing, product selection, forms and checkout where access is available.
Fix the barriers
Address semantic structure, labels, focus order, contrast, keyboard behaviour and error recovery. Coordinate third-party widget limitations with their owners.
Retest and hand over
Combine automated checks with manual journey testing. Record remaining issues and practical guidance for future content and component changes.
What we can deliver
- Prioritised accessibility findings
- Scoped component and content fixes
- Retest evidence and maintenance guidance
We agree the systems, responsibilities, acceptance checks and support arrangements before implementation begins.
Define the right scope
WCAG provides testable accessibility criteria. A scan score is not a conformance claim or certification. Full conformance requires the agreed evaluation scope and evidence; legal applicability is separately assessed.
Provider requirements and interfaces can change. We recheck the applicable documentation and account access when scoping your project.

Will an accessibility overlay solve the problem?
We prioritise fixing the underlying content and interaction problems. Any additional tool must be assessed in context and cannot replace testing the actual customer journey.
What should we include in the first brief?
Share the requirement, systems involved, target market, existing findings and the advisers or assessors already involved. We use that context to agree responsibilities, deliverables and the next review point.
