MAKE THE INPUTS USEFUL
Use sku,ordered,received,damaged,ordered_unit_cost,invoiced_unit_cost as the header. Keep one SKU per row, counts as whole numbers, and costs in one currency.
A partial receipt may have more units due later. A final receipt means remaining differences need resolution now.
Accepted stock excludes damaged units. The comparison uses invoiced unit cost for accepted stock and shows price variance on those units.
Use the per-SKU issues and totals to discuss missing, extra, damaged or price-different items. The values are a receipt comparison, not a payable amount or accounting entry. Check the source purchase order, supplier invoice and actual goods before approval.
