MAKE THE INPUTS USEFUL
Enter the selling price and product cost on the same per-order basis. Use a representative order if your basket contains multiple items, and keep its costs consistent.
Enter marketplace commission and payment fee percentages for the category, country and account you are modelling. Both apply to the entered selling price. The prefilled rates are examples, not official platform fees.
Include fulfilment and other per-order charges. Use other charges for costs you want included but have not entered elsewhere, such as a per-order advertising allowance or tax on fees.
Percentage fees shows the combined commission and payment charges. Contribution per order and contribution margin also reflect product, fulfilment and other charges entered. Compare scenarios using the same cost coverage; a larger sales price or lower headline commission does not necessarily produce a better contribution.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Use the marketplace commission and payment-fee percentages for the product and selling arrangement you are modelling. Both apply to the selling price entered here. Fulfilment cost and Other per-order charges are separate money amounts, so one percentage does not cover every cost.
Enter the promotional selling price and the commission, payment fee, fulfilment cost and other per-order charges that apply. Compare Contribution per order with the normal-price scenario, then include advertising or campaign costs outside this model in your decision.
This tool estimates contribution per order after product cost, percentage fees, fulfilment and other charges. A marketplace settlement is a cash statement that may also include refunds, withheld balances, taxes or earlier adjustments. Reconcile that statement separately rather than treating contribution as the expected payout.
It means the sale is positive under the entered model. Advertising, staff, software and other excluded costs still need to be covered across the business.
